Texas / USA

I have spent fifteen-plus years in design and marketing, most of it somewhere between the strategy conversation and the thing actually shipping. That is an unfashionable place to stand. It is also where almost every interesting problem turns out to live.

People occasionally read the range — brand, software, positioning, ministry — as a lack of focus. It is not. The common thread is building useful things out of ideas, and the reason the strategy work is any good is that I have to build the thing afterwards. It is difficult to sell a plan you know you will personally have to implement.

Most of what I work on is unglamorous infrastructure for businesses that are already working. A catalog that finally supports four sales channels. A storefront that leaves a platform without losing its rankings. A generator company that needed to be believed rather than admired. The work that photographs well and the work that matters are rarely the same work.

My current work is centered on Appalachia Digital, where I am Co-Owner | Chief Architect. I work across creative direction, marketing, websites, custom software, CRM systems, and AI. I hold the same title at Barbed Wire Studios and serve as Chief Marketing Officer at AxleTeknology.

Writing and theology run alongside that professional work. I am an author and a former pastor. My family and I currently attend Providence Church, an Orthodox Presbyterian congregation in Bryan, Texas, where we are seeking membership. Husband and father before any of the job titles — it is the actual constraint the rest of it is arranged around.

Writing & books.

Writing is where an idea has to hold together without a presentation doing the work for it. Theology, design, business, and technology all belong here.

A parallel history.

  1. 2017–2024

    Pleasant Grove Reformed Church

    Former worship and pastoral ministry

Worship Leader for six years, Associate Pastor for four years, and Senior Pastor for six months. These roles overlapped within the 2017–2024 period.

  2. Later / former ministry

    Redemption Ranch

    Former pastor

I later pastored Redemption Ranch, an independent Reformed congregation in North Zulch, Texas. That ministry is now historical; the sermons and teaching remain available as an archive.

  3. Current church context

    Providence Church (OPC)

    Attending / seeking membership

My family and I currently attend Providence Church, an Orthodox Presbyterian congregation in Bryan, Texas, where we are seeking membership.
